Pharyngitis (granular form)

Pharyngitis (granular form) is a granular form of pharyngitis in which the lymphatic issue of the pharynx is mainly damaged. In such a case, reddish nodules of different sizes appear on the posterior wall of the pharynx: from the size of papaveraceous grains to the size of peas. Such hypertrophied granules can irritate the trigerminal nerve and cause periodic cough episodes which occur when probing the tonsils.

Laser vaporization of the lymphoid granules of the posterior wall and the lateral nasal ridges is performed after local anesthesia has been applied to the mucous membrane of the pharynx.
