Pigmented nevus

Pigmented nevus is a benign accumulation of pigmented cells on the skin. Pigmented nevi are rarely seen in babies. They start to appear in childhood. Moreover, many of them appear especially in youths and the number of pigmented nevus gradually decreases with age. The appearance of pigmented nevus can be different: they could be dense or protrude (emerge) over the skin, smooth or covered with hair. Adults have to pay attention to the changes in shape, color and external appearance since it may present as one of the early symptoms of developing malignant melanomas.

An oncologist will consult you prior to the excision of nevus in our clinic. After laser excision of the nevus, samples are sent for histological investigations, a procedure not offered in cosmetic salons. Laser excision significantly provides better cosmetic results.
